We are looking to hire an organized and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team in a privately owned and busy small animal practice. This position is advertised as Full Time. Your role will be to assist our Veterinarians in providing excellent medical care for our patients and communicating with our clients on a daily basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION: - Greet patients and obtain pet medical histories.
- Bring animals back to exam rooms and perform an initial evaluation of their health.
- Inform the Veterinarians regarding anything that requires urgent attention.
- Provide assistance to the Veterinarians during examinations, surgeries and other procedures.
- Handle basic care duties such as administering medication, collecting samples, cleaning rooms etc.
- Provide food and water to animals who are boarding.
- Inform families about at home care for their pets.
- Monitoring inventory and restocking as needed.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking abilities.
- Capacity to work well during distressing situations.
- Passion for working with animals and their owners.
- Ability to work shifts and on rotating weekends.
- Veterinary experience is desired but willing to train the right person.
